Our picture of God is “developed” through a variety of sources—what others have said about God, what we conclude because of experiences, observations, reading, analyses, and so on. But not all of these may be correct! Based on our past experiences, we tend to retain many of our biases, misconceptions and wrong notions of who God is, what He does and how He works. Sometimes even what we may have heard in religious places, read in religious books could have misrepresented God to us and may have resulted in us having a wrong and inaccurate picture of God. Very often we even think that God could be mean and cruel. This book paints a fresh picture of God, showing us from the Bible that God is a good God. Evil And A Good God written by Bruce R. Reichenbach and has been published by Fordham Univ Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1982 with Philosophy categories.

"The question treated here is an old and important one. The horrors which we daily see or here about exist; they are evils, and evil is often held to establish the falsity of the theistic world view. Evil is believed to be either logically inconsistent with the existence of a good, omnipotent, omniscient, loving, personal deity, or else of such a great amount, prevalence, and variety that it is improbably that God exists. Were either of these true, and consequently were it possible to show that the theistic world view is false or probably false, this would be a significant intellectual and practical conclusion. The author here examines this atheological claim. Professor Reichenbach gives a thoroughgoing philosophical analysis, taking into account all the main modern and contemporary questions, and provides a most careful and cogent, strictly philosophical analysis of the solution to this basic problem. The book is spare and contains not a wasted word, and yet all the questions and objections one might legitimately raise are straightforwardly addressed and reasonably dealt with. Perhaps equally surprisingly in such a concise study, all the relevant literature, both classical and modern, is taken into account. Evil and a Good God will have to be reckoned with by future writers on this topic." -- Back cover.

“In this extraordinary memoir of grace, one of the foremost human rights advocates of the last half century shares her brutally and hilariously honest story of finding God on one of the most unlikely, irreverent, and utterly beautiful pilgrimages through life as it actually is.” —Gary A. Haugen, president and CEO, International Justice Mission “It used to be that my own religious philosophy was to work hard, charm everyone within spittin’ distance, and do a lot of crafts. So how did this hard-core leftist skeptic find peace and happiness among Bible-quoting, praying-out-loud, born-again evangelicals? I realized that my two choices—the existence of a loving God or the reality of evil—weren’t the only options. Option three is that God is good and the world is lousy. But wait. There’s more. God knows the world is lousy. Knows it, hates it, and wants us to do something about it...” —Holly Burkhalter, Good God, Lousy World & Me For over thirty years, Holly Burkhalter has worked as an international rights advocate for victims of genocide, rape, and injustice. Throughout most of her career, the heartbreak she encountered around the world—and in her own life—had convinced her that there was no such thing as a loving God. How could there be? If God was there, he should be charged as a war criminal for tolerating atrocities against the young, the poor, and the vulnerable. Then, Holly discovered a new truth: God was there—in the grief, in the violence, in the questions. And God was good. It was the greatest, hardest, most radiant surprise of her life. This is her story.

The Great God Pan is a horror and fantasy novel by the Welsh writer Arthur Machen. Machen was inspired to write about the Great God Pan through his experiences in the ruins of a pagan temple in Wales. The novel begins with an experiment that allows a woman named Mary to see the supernatural world. This is followed by a report of a series of mysterious events and deaths over many years. But who or what is behind them? Stephen King described the story as "perhaps the best [horror story] in the English language".
